Canadian Dental Care Plan Patients Are Welcome!
Horizons Dental Care is committed to ensuring everyone has access to exceptional dental care. If you’re eligible for the CDCP in Ottawa and wondering whether Horizons Dental Care will accept your coverage, the answer is yes!
Horizons is proud to offer treatments under this program. However, it’s important for patients to understand how the CDCP in Ottawa works, including any potential out-of-pocket expenses. Below, we’ve outlined key details to help you make informed decisions about your dental care.
How the CDCP Fee Guide Works
The CDCP Fee Guide is different from the standard Ontario Dental Association Fee Guide used at Horizons Dental Care. While we accept CDCP coverage, the plan may not always fully cover the costs, even for patients with 100% coverage. The exact amount depends on the treatment and is due at the time of the appointment.
At Horizons Dental Care, we prioritize clear communication. If there are any out-of-pocket expenses, we will let you know in advance to keep things transparent. We bill co-payments under the CDCP directly to the patient, and payment is due at the time of service.
CDCP Coverage
The Canadian Dental Care Plan does not cover all dental treatments. For example, cleanings, exams, and other routine procedures may not be covered at the frequency recommended by dental professionals. Patients who require additional treatments beyond their coverage will need to cover the extra costs out-of-pocket.
Expected Out-of-Pocket Expenses
Even patients qualifying for 100% coverage under the CDCP in Ottawa will still need to pay a portion of the cost, based on the Ontario Dental Association’s Fee Guide.
Apply for the CDCP
Patients need to enroll in the program before getting treatment to use the benefits. It is up to the patient to make sure their enrollment is current before booking an appointment. The CDCP runs from July 1 to June 30 each year, so patients must reapply every year to stay eligible.
Horizons Dental Care encourages patients who are unsure about their enrollment status to contact the clinic for assistance with verifying their coverage.
Important Scheduling Information
Horizons Dental Care asks patients to let the clinic know about their CDCP enrollment when booking an appointment to avoid delays in verifying eligibility.
